Overlapping TCI Coils

Unlike conventional physical interconnects such as TSV or wire-bonding, TCI coils can be overlapped since it follows metal pitch layout rules. This overlapping can reduce the overall coil area by a factor of 4, compared to normal coil placement.

Noise sensitivity between overlapped coils are reduced through time-multiplexed data transfer using a 4-phase clocking scheme and a special threshold voltage control circuit.
